Made By The Crew was created to provide meaningful employment for people with disabilities
Adults frequently ask little kids “What do you want to do when you grow up?” But what happens when your (mostly) nonverbal young adult is asked this same question? Perhaps you start imagining what the perfect job for them might look like. It might be easier to imagine the things it would not look like. In Charlotte’s case, I started thinking about jobs I had when I was younger and what I enjoyed about them. Next, I thought about Charlotte’s strengths and her purpose in life. Then I said, “We should just make this happen.”
